The Story
About WITH
The name doesn't matter. We came up with "WithKaraoke" on a last-minute "heck it" moment after trying to come up the name for 3 days, cross-checking domain names and SEO to make sure it didn't cross any use case in similar industries. We were trying to just get started instead of wasting more time on it haha.
In hindsight though, we couldn't have created this WITH help from so many people,
so it sticks well!
The Why
While owning a karaoke business, we found the entire business's POS was essentially trapped on a 2010 Lenovo desktop computer running Windows XP. Over the years, there were a few times we almost lost the only program able to calculate our pricing because the power supply failed and the motherboard failed as well. Thankfully, we were able to revive it, but it led to the urgency for us to find a new replacement Karaoke POS system for the business.
Surprisingly enough, we weren't able to find one to match karaoke needs. the previous program was tailor-made for my store, and had pricing rules that made sense for us, but any other POS system we tried looking for were unable to provide dynamic pricing based on both time-elapsed, and headcount of the party.
